Amina began her filmmaking journey as a Freelance Production Assistant for major productions and organisations, including Hammer and Tongs, MOBO Awards, BBC, and various independent feature films. These early experiences gave her a strong grounding in professional production environments—working across departments, coordinating teams, and supporting large-scale shoots.
Today, Amina works across both independent and funded projects as a filmmaker, creative producer, and editor. Her films often explore themes of identity, community, and place—merging authentic storytelling with visual craft.
Amina is one of the founders of Ffilm Abertawe, a growing network supporting independent filmmakers in South Wales through collaboration, skill-sharing, and platforming emerging voices.
Her work often involves close collaboration with artists, historians, young people, and community groups, with an emphasis on accessibility, co-creation, and storytelling that reflects real experiences.
Amina has built a strong reputation for creating films that are both artistically engaging and socially impactful. She is currently open to discussions and collaborations on creative projects, commissions, and partnerships that align with her commitment to meaningful storytelling.
