Edward resides in Swansea with his wife, Nathalie and his daughters Nell and Macy. He is Vice President of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Professor of Practice at Swansea College of Art. Edward is also an ambassador for the Pen y Bryn school Film Skills project

Born in Swansea, South Wales, Edward had a keen interest in art and the theatre from an early age. After becoming a member of the West Glamorgan Youth Theatre Company, Edward completed a foundation course in Art at Swansea College of Art, where he was awarded a distinction. He went on to graduate from Wimbledon School of Art with a First Class BA (Hons) degree in 3 Dimensional Theatre Design in 1992. His career in theatre began at the Royal Opera House as Assistant Designer on the production of Turandot staged at Wembley Arena.
Over the following years, Edward was involved in various commercials before breaking into films, where he gained his first experience on the period feature - The Mystery of Edwin Drood, an adaptation of Charles Dickens' unfinished detective story.
His feature film career developed, and he gained extensive experience working across Africa and other parts of the world, creating a diverse portfolio of eighteen films, which includes such genres as Western, Viking, Family, Fantasy, Thriller, Science fiction, Period and Contemporary.

Edward has received much recognition for his work, including BAFTA Cymru and RTS Award nominations for Best Design, and a National BAFTA nomination for Breakthrough Talent.

On his return to Wales, Edward embarked upon Doctor Who (Series 1-5) as well as Torchwood (Series 1-3), The Sarah Jane Adventures and Sherlock for BBC Wales. Edward returned to Africa temporarily to design Outcasts for Kudos, another large-scale science fiction production. Back in the UK, he then explored the story of the Munich air disaster in United for World Productions and the BBC2 drama Line of Duty. More recently, Edward has designed and co-produced seasons 1 to 3 of the flagship high concept drama Da Vinci's Demons, created by David Goyer for Starz TV and "Set Fire to the Stars" the Dylan Thomas bio pic starring Elijah Wood. Executive Producer roles Inc. the drama Documentary feature film "Jack to a King The Swansea Story"
More recent feature films include Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Monster Hunter, Escape Room and the sequel Escape Room Tournament of Champions. Edward collaborated with Director Andre Overdal and Amblin Entertainment on The Last Voyage of the Dementer. Recent television credits include Who Is Erin Carter for Left Bank Pictures and One Piece for Tomorrow Studios, commissioned for Netflix

In 2006, he won a BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Design for his work on Torchwood, and in 2010, Best Design for Doctor Who: Waters of Mars, with a further BAFTA Cymru Award for his production design on Da Vinci’s Demons. Edward was also voted the top of the Arts power list in Wales for 2015.
